Abstract

Die Konjunkturentwicklung bewegte sich 1989 am Rande der Stagnation. Das Jahr stand im Zeichen der Vorbereitung auf EG '93, sichtbar durch die große Anzahl von Fusionen von überwiegend mittelständischen Unternehmen. Die Inlandsnachfrage ging weiter zurück, nur dank steigender Exporte (+ 12,3%) stieg das reale Bruttoinlandsprodukt um 1%. Die Einzelhandelsumsätze lagen auf Vorjahresniveau, der Index der Verbraucherpreise erhöhte sich um 4,7%. Bei steigender Arbeitslosenquote (+ 9,5%) lagen die Löhne 4,5% höher als 1988. 1990 wird bei weiterer konjunktureller Erholung das reale Bruttoinlandsprodukt um 1,5% bis 2% zunehmen.
