Anhaltender Shutdown führt zu leichtem Anstieg der Kurzarbeit in Deutschland

Abstract

Die Zahl der Beschäftigten in Kurzarbeit in Deutschland dürfte nach Schätzung des ifo Instituts im Februar leicht auf 2,8 Millionen Personen gestiegen sein, nachdem sie im Januar bei schätzungsweise 2,7 Millionen Personen gelegen war. Damit dürfte der Anteil der Kurzarbeiter an der sozialversicherungspflichtigen Beschäftigung bei 8,5% liegen (Januar 2021: 8,1%). Allein durch Kurzarbeit ist das Arbeitsvolumen aller sozialversicherungspflichtig Beschäftigten im Februar schätzungsweise um 4,8% geringer ausgefallen als üblich. Der Anstieg der Kurzarbeit war vor allem auf die vom Lockdown betroffenen Wirtschaftsbereiche im Handel und dem Dienstleistungssektor zurückzuführen. Allein im Gastgewerbe dürften derzeit mehr als 600 000 Beschäf-tigte in Kurzarbeit sein. Im Verarbeitenden Gewerbe ist aufgrund der robusten Indust-riekonjunktur dagegen ein gegenläufiger Trend mit einer erneuten Abnahme der Kurzarbeit zu erkennen.
