Covid-19-Krise: Für das Jahr 2020 ist mit keinem Anstieg der Einkommensungleichheit in Deutschland zu rechnen

Abstract

Die Covid-19-Pandemie und die zu ihrer Eindämmung umgesetzten Maßnahmen treffen den Arbeitsmarkt erheblich. Eine Simulationsstudie des IAB und des ifo Instituts zeigt: Die Bruttoerwerbseinkommen dürften sich in diesem Jahr infolge der Covid-19-Krise für alle Einkommensgruppen spürbar verringern. Das Steuer- und Transfersystem und insbesondere die Kurzarbeiterregelungen wirken jedoch als wichtige Einkommensstabilisatoren und reduzieren die Verluste bei den Erwerbseinkommen deutlich.
