Ostdeutschland wird statistisch „reicher“, aber der Westen noch mehr!

Abstract

Das Statistische Bundesamt hat für den Herbst dieses Jahres eine erneute Revision der Daten der Volkswirtschaftlichen Gesamtrechnungen (VGR) angekündigt. Diese wird aller Voraussicht nach zu einer Erhöhung des statistisch ausgewiesenen nominalen Bruttoinlandsprodukts (BIP) in Deutschland um knapp 3% gegenüber den bisher veröffentlichten Werten führen [vgl. Statistisches Bundesamt (2014)]. Wie überschlägige Rechnungen des ifo Instituts zeigen, wird auch das nominale Bruttoinlandsprodukt der ostdeutschen Länder etwas höher aus fallen als bisher ausgewiesen. Allerdings fällt die Revision in den westdeutschen Bundesländern deutlich stärker aus. Im Ergebnis wird Ostdeutschland durch die Revision der Statistik zwar „reicher“, die Lücke bei der „Angleichung der Lebensverhältnisse“ dürfte aber sogar noch größer ausfallen als bisher.
