Innovationskraft der sächsischen Industrie hilft bei der Krisenbewältigung

Abstract

Begünstigt durch ein sich dynamisch entwickelndes wirtschaftliches Umfeld nahm in den Jahren 2005 bis 2007 die Innovationstätigkeit in der deutschen Industrie stetig zu und die Innovationsbudgets wuchsen. Der Mitte 2008 durch die Finanzkrise verursachte globale Konjunkturabschwung hatte auch für das Innovationsgeschehen in Deutschland negative Folgen, die sich allerdings noch in moderaten Größenordnungen hielten. Für 2009 wird infolge der sich bis Jahresmitte verschärfenden rezessiven Entwicklung mit einer starken Beeinträchtigung der Innovationsneigung zu rechnen sein. Eine aktuelle Studie zeigt jedoch, wie wichtig gerade in der Krise Wissen und Innovationsfähigkeit als Voraussetzungen für prosperierende Regionen sind. Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird analysiert, wie sich das Innovationsgeschehen in der sächsischen Industrie vor dem Hintergrund der wirtschaftlichen Situation der Jahre 2007 und 2008 entwickelt hat.
