Quo vadis Investor? Sachsen im Standortvergleich

Abstract

Im innerdeutschen Wettbewerb um Investoren haben die ostdeutschen Bundesländer noch zusätzlich mit der Konkurrenz der östlichen Nachbarstaaten zu kämpfen, die mit niedrigen Lohnkosten und hohen Investitionsanreizen Unternehmen in ihre Regionen locken. Die Positionierung Sachsens im Standortwettbewerb mit Polen, Tschechien und Ungarn wird anhand der Ergebnisse einer gerade abgeschlossenen ifo Studie dargestellt. Dass Standort jedoch nicht gleich Standort ist, zeigen Analysen der Wachstumsperspektiven für eine Reihe von europäischen Stadtregionen. So hängt die Chance Ostdeutschlands, in der Wirtschaftskraft aufzuholen, entscheidend von seiner Attraktivität für die Ansiedlung von High-Tech-Unternehmen ab.
