ifo Investitionstest neue Bundesländer : Industrieinvestitionen hielten 1997 noch ihr hohes Niveau

Abstract

Der vorliegende Bericht gibt einen Überblick über die Investitionsentwicklung in den neuen Bundesländern für den Zeitraum von 1995 bis 1997, wobei schwerpunktmäßig auf das Investitionsverhalten im Jahr 1997 eingegangen wird. Die Auswertungen und Hochrechnungen zeigen, daß das ostdeutsche verarbeitende Gewerbe auch 1997 mit über 16,5 Milliarden DM recht viel investiert hat, d.h. nur 4% weniger als im Vorjahr. Pro Beschäftigten wurde in der ostdeutschen Industrie annähernd doppelt so viel investiert wie in den alten Ländern. Maßgeblich für das hohe Niveau sind Großprojekte besonders in der Eisenschaffenden und der Chemischen Industrie, im Raffineriebereich, in der Elektrotechnik sowie in der Glasindustrie. Insgesamt wurden 45% der Gesamtinvestitionen von den Unternehmen als Erweiterungsinvestitionen bezeichnet, d.h. das Investitionsmotiv Erweiterung steht unangefochten an der Spitze.
