Conceptul de matrice culturala elaborat de Nicholas Georgescu-Roegen (I)

The dominant characteristic of the modern world is undoubtfully the globalization. The phenomena on this tendency are, in general rule, ones which objectivity cannot be discussed: generalization of new technologies, development of communications and information society etc., in identical forms for each known socio-economic system. The conclusion adopted by main economists, politologists and sociologists is that all these elements are enough to prove the hypothesis that future society will be one without notable differences, which values are those imposed by the globalization. It is important to mention that the contrary point of view, meaning the one which assume the hypothesis of maintaining strong cultural differences in the socio-economic systems, has its arguments too. This is the first objective of this paper and the starting point is the N. Georgescu-Roegen theory, which contributions to elaborate an economic theory based on the "cultural matrix" pattern of each socio-economic system are features permanent his writings. The "cultural matrix" hypothesis is not an original one of the Romanian scientist. More or less, elaborates ideas can be identified at the first economists. The consistent difference is that the Georgescu-Roegen's theory can be proved empirically - and this is the second objective of the paper.
