Abstract

Integrated reporting is a type of corporate reporting that aims to combine important financial and non-financial information and show how it relates to each other. It is expected to lead to the presentation of integrated reports that contribute to comprehensive analysis and decision-making, reflecting how the business affects the economic, social and environmental context in which it operates. Businesses must meet the challenges of implementing this report to be capableto link information and generate value over time. The organizations must face challenges such as time-consuming internal implementation of integrated reporting and coordination across stakeholder groups to offer forward-thinking announcements in their yearly reports. In adopting integrated reporting at the start stage and applying it in the future, they need to think about some concerns. These concerns will be considered as challenges with respect to the organizations. Thus the study aim’s is to recognize and specify the possible challenges that the Lebanese business will face in the adopting and implementing integrated reporting within the organization, to determine the purpose behind this process and to define the cost benefits, reliability of information reported, Time needed to change the presently applicable reports, expertise and skill needed in integrated reporting adoption and implementation. to be able to achieve the study objectives, questionnaires were distributed to companies in Lebanon both local and international using the Google form, the data were examined using SPSS software to produce data outputs. The reliability test, ANOVA testing as well as Pearson correlation were used to analyze data. To be able to prove the relation between the dependent variable (The challenges facing businesses in Lebanon in adopting and applying integrated reporting) and the independent variables (IV1: Cost of implementation relative to benefits, IV2: Reliability of information, IV3: Time needed to change the presently applicable reports, IV4: Expertise and skill needed) regression analysis was conducted. The paper will help to expand awareness and deep understanding of integrated reporting as a critical foundation for the growth and survival of organizations.
