In this paper I have approached aspects related to the problematic of regionalization within the new economic context, which is marked by major turbulence with medium and long-term effects. The development disparities are a reality and, therefore, the interventions of the regional development process is designed to reduce these disparities. I have also presented several factors that contribute to eliminate the disparities and develop the regions, focusing on the importance of the innovation and creation process, the development of the human resource, the specialization of regions, infrastructure and accessibility. Keywords: regionalization, public administration, small and medium enterprises, innovation. Journal: Constatin Brancusi University of Targu Jiu Annals - Economy Series
