Using nominal variables for analysing the regional disparities in Romania

Abstract

The term disparity refers to the inequality gap, the backlog in some geographical areas, administrative - territorial units or regions with other socio-economic development process determined on the one hand and human differences resources seasoned and differences on the other economic, demographic, political or cultural. In fact, the largest statistical disparity is nothing else than a variable that expresses the size difference between the levels of development of the regions compared. Regional development projects require ongoing assessment and analysis of existing disparities between regions and establish hierarchies between them appealing to specific statistical methodology territorial analysis. In the present work we chose the method of statistical analysis of nominal variables territorial.
