Abstract

?This article analyzes a great variety of collective bargaining on Sunday working in the retail sector to understand how the qualification process of workers is taking a new form. The qualification is established by the balance of power between employers, workers and their unions, this balance is constantly modified through struggles and negotiations in companies. Sunday working is increasingly demanded by employers in the retail sector : it is becoming a major issue in collective bargaining and workers? struggles in a sector where qualification is seldom recognised. The collective agreements signed in 2016 on Sunday working not only set a specific status of extra occupation for weekend workers but also contribute to redefining all retail employees? qualification. Because it individualizes work time and remuneration, the growing use of Sunday working weakens workers? social ties and increases inequalities between employees.?
