Le statut coopératif : un stabilisateur garant de l'entreprise comme institution

Abstract

Institutionalist economists develop a conception of the firm as a whole, with its own life, beyond its constituting elements: according to them, stability seen as a capacity for a state to stay over time is a factor of performance. On the contrary, through their essential characteristics, cooperatives are defenders of the firm as an entity, rather than a nexus of contracts: these structures give cooperative firms a higher stability thanks to the slowdown of the decision path, and because of less attractivity on markets. Thus, deepening the nexus between cooperative world and institutionalist economics is a promising research track.
