Un modèle de comportement rationnel vis-à-vis de la pollution intérieure

Abstract

Indoor air pollution issues are gaining interest as individuals spend most of their time indoor (90% of the time in the US, (Wei, Ramalho et Mandin [2015])) and lead to various health problems (e.g. cancers, allergies (WHO [2010])). We model how an individual optimizes his choice over a lifetime to maximize his utility using optimal control theory. We highlight the importance of health perception on the mitigation actions. Using numerical simulations, we show the importance of income and information about indoor air pollution to fight it.
