Abstract

In the recent years, in France, the decision process in the field of large investments has appreciably changed, leading to institutional responses in terms of relevant procedures. The consequence of this evolution consists in growing expectation of information to fuel the debate, to throw light on the problematics, more objectively. One of the main thematics of these participating procedures is local development, the answer to these expectations is one of the conditions of the social acceptability of projects. Lessons of the French motorways socio economic observatories give the matter to enlargement of theoretical and methodological approaches of these questions.
