Abstract

The populist radical right is being ?transnationalized? on many fronts, in particular by appealing to migrants living abroad as potential supporters and campaign workers. How do the Conservative People?s Party of Estonia (EKRE) and its branch organization in Finland use the social media and transnational networks to run a grassroots campaign, increase their visibility and muster voters? As the empirical analysis of interviews and posts on the social media suggests, this ?transnationalization? creates ideological challenges for the populist far right; but activists have risen to these challenges by adopting a populist discourse and diverse strategies for posting comments on line.
