Le mouvement démocratique chinois au miroir des révolutions de 1989. Trois parcours intellectuels

Abstract

Whereas Chinese authorities have often used the collapse of Communist systems as a pushback, several intellectuals have pondered the reasons for the failure of the democratic movement in China. The writings of Vaclav Havel were translated and have come under discussion among liberal intellectuals (Liu Xiaobo) ; and the Polish experience has inspired some activists (Han Dongfang) to turn toward independent labor unions. Some academics have tried to make comparative studies of economic reforms in China and the former Soviet bloc. The history of Communist societies in Europe has thus remained a reference mark for thinking about politics in China since 1989.
