Les institutions européennes sont-elles assez exigeantes en matière d’égalité salariale ?

Abstract

Equal pay for equal work is a founding value of the European Union. Nevertheless, European institutions appear to be falling short of this goal. By focusing on female employment rates, they have given member states the possibility to develop specific types of jobs that actually widen the gender pay gap, such as part-time jobs. Narrowing the gender pay gap requires an examination of the general conditions of women?s participation in the labor market, including gender segregation and working time.
