Corporate responsibility toward social transformation. The case of a waste picker empowerment project in Mexico

Abstract

Cet article s'appuie sur l?étude de cas d?un projet mené auprès de chiffonniers au Mexique pour interroger le concept d?empowerment et sa transposition au secteur privé dans le cadre de projets de responsabilité sociale des entreprises. L?évaluation d?impact, qui s?appuie sur la méthode des différences-en-différences, montre que les leviers principaux d?empowerment du projet ne sont pas économiques mais socio-politiques, ce qui invite à insister sur la responsabilité politique de l?entreprise.
