Abstract

Since the mid-eighties, migration among Comorians has grown significantly. More specifically, most individuals immigrate to France. In 2004, the World Bank estimated that between 85,000 and 150,000 Comorians were living in France. These migrants transfer a significant part of their income to their home country. This paper analyses immigrants? movements and fund transfers, and their economic and social impact on the Comoro Islands.
