Abstract

In Senegal, the management of the ageing is multidimensional. The percentage of elderly benefiting from a social security cover does not overtake 10 %. The politics operated by the Senegalese government for the care of the old population are in its infancy. We analyze here the do-it-yourself of the medicals, the militancy of the actors concerned by the problem of the ageing through a national and international network. The interweaving of the institutional, family solidarities, intra and intergenerational shows the complexity of the question of the ageing in this country is caugth between convivance and survivance like Marc Abélès define them.
