Effets de seuil dans la relation entre l'accès au microcrédit et l'amélioration du bien-être des bénéficiaires

Abstract

The underlying assumption of access to microfinancial services considers that the seniority in the program can reduce poverty among beneficiaries. In contrast, some authors suggest that microfinance could lead them into situations of debt, and therefore aggravate their already difficult fate. Given this duality of approaches and by adopting a descriptive approach, the objective of this paper is to analyze the possibility of a "threshold effect" occurrence, from which, the positive effects of microcredit become exhausted and result in the deterioration of welfare recipient.
