Arrimer le global et le local ou le développement durable pour qui ? L’exemple de la gestion contractualisée de la forêt de Merikanjaka

Abstract

Sustainable development actions should create a link between the scale of policies, institutions and regulations and the local level of the action. A good knowledge of the local environment is a necessary prerequisite, but not always sufficient, to guarantee the success of the action. This is particularly true in the field of natural resource management. This principle is illustrated in an example of contract-based management of a natural forest in the high plates of Madagascar.
