Abstract

We propose an evaluation of well-being in the French regions. In order to measure well-being, we use a composite index rather then to GDP per inhabitant. The Index of well-being in the French Regions, in a sustainable development approach, entails 3 dimensions, economic, social and environmental, and 22 variables. We calculate it for the 22 French regions. It shows the multidimensional character of well-being, with a different lighting than GDP per inhabitant. JEL Codes: I31, Q01, R10
