Financial inclusion and international migration in a context of climate instability

Abstract

Climate change is associated with fears of large migration flows from developing countries. We find that climate instability only increases migration to neighbouring or close countries and that financial inclusion attenuates this climate-migration nexus. JEL Codes: F22, G20, O13, Q54.
