Abstract

Articolul prezintă Biblioteca Bavareză de Stat din München, a doua bibliotecă ca mărime din Germania, înfiinţată în anul 1558. Pe lângă o serie de atribuţii locale, această structură documentară îndeplineşte, împreună cu Deutsche Bibliothek din Frankfurt pe Main şi Staatsbibliothek din Berlin, funcţia de bibliotecă naţională a Germaniei şi se ocupă de digitizarea documentelor de dinainte de 1700. Dintre numeroasele sale departamente, cel de manuscrise şi carte rară se distinge prin impresionanta sa colecţie de incunabule şi ediţii rare tipărite după 1500.
