Ropa a jej budúcnosť

Abstract

V posledných rokoch sme svedkami neustáleho rastu cien ropy. Podľa odborníkov špecializujúcich sa na ropu (najmä geológov) je možné, že v priebehu nasledujúcich rokov sa ropa úplne vyčerpá. Na druhej strane, ekonómovia veria, že ropy je dostatok a trhové sily budú viesť ropné spoločnosti k investíciám do ropného priemyslu, takže ťažba plne uspokojí dopyt. Článok analyzuje vrchol ťažby, ktorý pravdepodobne nastane v priebehu niekoľkých rokov prípadne dekád. Či k nemu dôjde, záleží od mnohých faktorov ako ropné rezervy, neobjavené rezervy, alternatívne zdroje energie a ich využitie, nové technológie, atď.
