    Abstract

    Cieľom príspevku je objasniť podstatu regionálnych disparít v kontexte Európskej únie a identifikovať aktuálny stav rozvoja regiónov členských štátov Únie na základe vybraných sociálno-ekonomických ukazovateľov. Uvedené predpokladá vymedzenie a porovnanie jej najviac a najmenej rozvinutých štátov a regiónov a zhodnotenie, či regióny Únie zaznamenávajú z hľadiska ekonomického rozvoja regiónov konvergentné alebo divergentné tendencie. Záverom príspevku je objasnenie prístupu EÚ k odstraňovaniu regionálnych disparít, vrátane priblíženia základných prvkov jej regionálnej politiky.
