Izraelský faktor v arabskej politike (1948-1958)

Abstract

Väčšina odborníkov na problematiku Blízkeho východu a následne na arabskoizraelský konflikt sa zhoduje v tom, že ide o dlhotrvajúci zápas za ovládnutie Palestíny. V tejto štúdii sa analyzuje izraelský faktor v arabskej politike počas desaťročného obdobia od vzniku štátu Izrael v roku 1948. Vytvorenie Izraela v Palestíne znamenalo počiatočný úspech sionistov, ale teritoriálne ciele sionistického hnutia neboli dosiahnuté. Izrael preto systematicky uplatňoval silu, aby prinútil Arabov prosiť o mier. V roku 1953 sa ukázalo, že úvahy Izraela boli chybné a palestínsky odboj neutícha. Izraelčania došli k záveru, že arabsko-izraelské urovnanie bude treba začať s Egyptom. Izrael dokázal uskutočniť niektoré ciele počas sinajského ťaženia v roku 1956, ale vzťahy medzi Arabmi a Izraelčanmi sa ďalej zhoršovali.
