Stredná Ázia – geopolitika, konflikty a extrémizmus

Abstract

V príspevku autor poukazuje na nebezpečenstvo etnických a teritoriálnych konfliktov a na nárast náboženského (islamského) extrémizmu v postsovietskej Strednej Ázii po rozpade Sovietskeho zväzu a na bezpečnostné perspektívy spojené s vnútropolitickým vývojom v krajinách Strednej Ázie. Zvýrazňuje geopolitické postavenie Strednej Ázie v systéme medzinárodných vzťahov v rámci globalizujúceho sa sveta. Upozorňuje na fenomén návratu náboženského faktoru do denného života spoločnosti a s tým spojené riziká umocnené správaním sa postkomunistických elít v jednotlivých stredoázijských republikách. Samostatne sú vymedzené netradičné hrozby destabilizácie regiónu a rozobrané otázky inštitucionálnej transformácie. V záverečnej časti príspevku autor vymedzuje implikácie pre Slovenskú republiku plynúce z vývoja situácie v regióne a akcentuje potrebu geopolitickej rovnováhy a pluralizmu.
