Abstract

Zásadnou otázkou v kontexte európskej energetickej politiky je otázka zabezpečenia energetických zdrojov a bezpečnosti dodávok za prijateľnejších podmienok environmentálnej udržateľnosti. V súčasnosti je Európska únia (EÚ) v pozícií, keď musí hľadať riešenie rôznych požiadaviek, z ktorých sú viaceré protichodné. K strategickým cieľom patrí zníženie spotreby energii, diverzifikácia dovozu nosičov energie a úprava štruktúry sektorov energetiky tak, aby bola zabezpečená bezpečnosť dodávky energií v horizonte 20-30 rokov a napĺňanie environmentálnych kritérií. Potreba zrýchlenia ekonomického rastu v celej EÚ však priamo implikuje rast spotreby energií, a preto vystupuje do popredia otázka mixu nástrojov energetickej politiky, aby tak boli pokryté potreby všetkých jej členov.
