Abstract

This paper pays attention to women migrants as a specific group of migrants. In the introductory part, it analyzes quantitative data on women migrants from a global perspective and then we compare them for individual regions of the world. Significant differences are especially visible when comparing economically developed countries and developing countries. Subsequently, the article deals exclusively with the status and quantitative data on women migrants from a national perspective. In the text we analyze the main causes of relatively low numbers of women migrants in Slovakia, especially in comparison with data on men migrants.
