Abstract

In this paper, we examine whether Brazilian increased interest in Sub-Saharan Africa leads to more intensive economic cooperation between them. We use the method of comparison, descriptive analysis and deduction, we gradually describe the brief development of relations between Brazil and Sub-Saharan Africa´s position in Brazilian foreign policy, as well as the economic links between them. Throughout all phases of the evolution of relations, there is a correlation of political and trade relations, with the most intensive cooperation taking place in the first, fourth and fifth periods. Modern cooperation between Brazil and Sub-Saharan Africa also brings some pitfalls (smuggling, trafficking, crime), but also a positive example of Brazil in eradicating poverty, crime and strengthening prevention of infectious diseases.
