Abstract

Following paper deals with the Rortyʼs conception of reconstruction of philosophy. In the first part we analyse Rortyʼs critique of traditional philosophy that is conceived as metaphysics, abstract and dualistic system of inferences constituting our notion of reality. In the second part of the study we describe Rortyʼs proposal about the practical role of philosophy in our society. We conclude that Rortyʼs goal is to communicate a new kind of philosophy, aimed at educatory purposes. Its purpose is to create optimal conditions for discussion as basic platform for solving the problems of our society and politics.
