Mandatory National Health Insurance In Ukraine: Current State And Prospective Innovations

Abstract

The article is is devoted to study of the current state and prospects of introduction of mandatory national health insurance in Ukraine. It is proved that the adaptation of the social policy of Ukraine towards the European standards consists in reforming of the systems of insurance, labor protection, health care, pension providing and employment policy and in gradual achievement of the general European level of population social security and protection. It is noted that in Ukraine the considerable attention is paid to the development of social insurance in general, and the medical insurance in particular. Objective of the research is to analyze the current state and prospects of the introduction of mandatory national health insurance in Ukraine. The author has analyzed the experience of European countries, which shows that financing of health care industry at the expense of insurance premiums can be sufficiently effective. Were given the arguments on the necessity to adopt the Law of Ukraine "On Mandatory National Health Insurance", which would determine the legal, organizational and financial foundations and mechanisms of functioning of the mentioned type of social insurance.
