Abstract

Die Österreichischen Volksbanken haben seit den 80er Jahren eine lange Tradition im Sportsponsoring, die sich einerseits in der Unterstützung einer Vielzahl regionaler Sportaktivitäten (Vereinssport, lokale Sportereignisse, Einzelsportler), andererseits als Sponsoringpartner von Abfahrtsolympiasieger 1976 und Rekordweltcupsieger in der Abfahrt Franz Klammer widerspiegelt. Seit dem Jahr 2005 wird das österreichische Profiradteam „Team Volksbank“ von der Volksbank Gruppe unterstützt. Im Rahmen einer Vielzahl von regionalen Sponsorships innerhalb des Volksbank Verbundes ist diese Maßnahme die Speerspitze überregionaler Aktivitäten. Im Folgenden werden Hintergründe und Zielrichtungen dieser Sponsorentscheidung dargestellt.
