Abstract

Die häufig verwendeten Wissensabfragen zur Messung der Financial Literacy sind nur ein schwacher Prädiktor für tatsächliches Finanzverhalten. Dieser Beitrag verwendet daher Fallbeispiele als eine realitätsnahe Alternative zu Wissensabfragen, um auf die praktische Financial Literacy bzw. Financial Capability von jungen Erwachsenen zu schließen. Die Auswertungen zeigen, dass die Probanden eine gute bis sehr gute Financial Capability besitzen, und geben Anlass, bei weiteren Studien zur Financial Literacy praxistaugliche Fallbeispiele anstatt eher theoriebezogene Wissensabfragen einzusetzen
