Abstract

Die Reiselust der Generationen Y und Z steigt ebenso wie deren Umweltbewusstsein. Doch wie lassen sich diese beiden Strömungen miteinander vereinen? Dieser Bericht stellt die Ergebnisse einer Untersuchung zum Spannungsfeld Klimaschutz und Reiselust dar. Im Rahmen einer qualitativen und quantitativen Befragung zeigte sich, dass der Zielgruppe beides wichtig ist, sie sich jedoch für das Reisen entscheidet, wenn sie wählen müsste. Nichtsdestotrotz wünschen sich die Generationen Y und Z Änderungen im Luftverkehr zu Gunsten des Klimaschutzes – auch wenn diese Änderungen mit Kosten für die Reisenden verbunden sind. Das Prinzip der CO2-Kompensation stößt zwar auf positive Rückmeldungen, jedoch haben die meisten Befragten der Generationen Y und Z noch nie einen Flug kompensiert.
