Willkommen in Silamsi!?– Wahrnehmung und Konfliktpotentiale des arabischen Tourismus in Zell am See-Kaprun

Abstract

Die Region Zell am See-Kaprun ist beliebtes Ziel von arabischen Sommertouristen, die jedoch häufig als Störfaktoren empfunden werden und deren Wahrnehmung stark durch Stereotype und Vorurteile geprägt ist. Die dargestellten Ergebnisse basieren auf einer empirischen Studie (2013–17) mit Methodentriangulation, in der arabische und nicht-arabische Touristen sowie Personen der lokalen Bevölkerung befragt wurden. Es hat sich gezeigt, dass die Reaktionen von Akteuren der lokalen Tourismuswirtschaft gegenüber arabischen Touristen ambivalent ausfielen, da der ökonomische Nutzen der (emotionalen) Belastung aufgrund soziokultureller Differenzen gegenübersteht. Konfliktpotentiale ergeben sich im touristischen Alltag vor allem in Situationen und Interaktionen, bei denen divergierende gesellschaftliche Normen und Werte sowie kulturell spezifische Denk- und Verhaltensmuster auftreten. Transparenz und Kommunikation zwischen allen beteiligten Akteuren würde ein konfliktfreies und freundliches touristisches Miteinander fördern.
