‚Eine Landschaft wie ein Gemälde?‘ – Die Inszenierung von Landschaft im Wander- und Fahrradtourismus

Abstract

Der Beitrag befasst sich mit der Frage, wie Landschaft von Reiseveranstaltern inszeniert und von Touristen konsumiert wird. Theoretische Grundlage bildet ein sozialkonstruktivistisches Verständnis von Landschaft. Reiseveranstalter übernehmen stereotype landschaftliche Vorstellungen aus Malerei, Film und Literatur, um Destinationen zu bewerben. Klischees sind für den Tourismus von höchster wirtschaftlicher Bedeutung, da sie es erlauben, komplexe Gebilde wie Regionen auf eine leicht verständliche Aussage verdichtet als Produkte zu positionieren. Auf der Reise zeigt sich, dass Vorstellungen von idealen Landschaften, mit Wünschen über deren Aneignung verbunden sind. John Urry hat diese Wünsche als ‚tourist gaze‘ bezeichnet und treffend beschrieben. Der Wunsch nach ‚tourist gaze‘ wiederum hat seinen Ursprung in einer stereotypen Vorstellung vom Reisenden als Entdecker.
