Abstract

Die Veröffentlichung der Briefe des bedeutenden deutschen Nationalökonomen Walter Eucken aus den Jahren 1907–1932 ist ein Ereignis. Wie Karen Horn in diesem kurzen Hinweis schreibt, bilden sie den Auftakt der lange ausstehenden Gesamtedition des Eucken’schen Werks – und der Nachlass birgt noch weitere Schätze. Gleichzeitig ist nun auch die erste Eucken-Biographie erschienen. Beide Bücher bieten tiefe Einblicke in die geistige Verwurzelung und Entwicklung eines Gelehrten in dramatischer Zeit. Sein Erbe ist bis heute von großer Bedeutung.
