Abstract

Die Geschichte des Vereins für Socialpolitik war zwischen 1919 und 1960 von zahlreichen Krisen geprägt. Dazu zählten politische und akademische Krisen innerhalb des Vereins, aber auch die politische Radikalisierung, die 1936 zu seiner Auflösung führte. Jan-Otmar Hesse zeichnet in seinem Beitrag die Vereinsgeschichte nach und verbindet sie mit den wissenschaftlichen Paradigmenwechseln innerhalb der Wirtschaftswissenschaften zwischen Historischer Schule der Nationalökonomie und Keynesianismus. Darüber hinaus schildert er die Verdrängung jüdischer Wissenschaftler und Wissenschaftlerinnen sowie den Wiederaufbau der Wirtschaftswissenschaft und des Vereins nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg.
