Abstract

In seiner Thünen-Vorlesung vor dem Verein für Socialpolitik im Herbst 2018 hat Benny Moldovanu das Abstimmungsverfahren im Bundestag und in der Weimarer Republik untersucht. Die Analysemethode basiert sowohl auf einer historisch-politischen Evaluation jedes einzelnen Falls als auch auf einer sehr präzisen spieltheoretischen Untersuchung unter Berücksichtigung der neuesten Fortschritte auf den Feldern von Mechanism Design, Social Choice und Informationsökonomie. Eine vergleichsweise einfache Theorie kann schon eine Menge bringen, um die Verwendung bestimmter gesetzgeberischer Verfahren zu erklären und deren Ergebnisse zu beschreiben und vorauszusagen.
