Impacto del crédito bancario en el crecimiento económico sectorial

Abstract

La presente investigación presenta el efecto del crédito bancario hacia el sector real de la economía boliviana (a nivel sectorial y agregado), considerando las relaciones no lineales entre el crédito e IGAE. Los resultados de largo plazo a nivel sectorial (modelo VEC) evidencian que la elasticidad de la cartera- crecimiento de los sectores de Agricultura e Industria son 0,05pp y 0,08pp, respectivamente. En el caso de Servicios, se muestra una fuerte relación con la actividad de Industria (1,04pp), lo cual explica la elevada elasticidad de la cartera de servicios respecto al desempeño económico de esta actividad. Asimismo, el efecto promedio de corto plazo estimado del modelo PVAR muestra que choques positivos (impulso-respuesta) en la cartera se internalizan en la actividad en un intervalo de 0,2pp y 0,86pp a lo largo del tiempo. De este modo, se muestra que el crédito es importante para promover el crecimiento económico.
