Modeling The Developing Regions In A Linked International Context

Abstract

ABSTRACT In this paper, the structure and properties of seven econometric models of developing regions are presented. When solved in iteration with the Wharton Econometries World Model, these models allow linked and globally consistent simulation of the international transmission mechanism. The principal significance of the models is that they are unusually detailed, especially as regards international debt. In the concluding section of the paper, results of an extended simulation of debt‐relief policy are presented.
