Abstract

The implementation of foreign trade activity in the conditions associated with the digitalization of economic relations between business entities and the rapid pace of innovation requires appropriate support in the enterprise management system. Given the diversity of views on the basic economic categories that reveal the essence of these processes, there is a need to form a modern conceptual and categorical apparatus. It is determined that foreign sources use the concept of "international trade" to characterize trade operations, regardless of the level of relations. The concept of "foreign trade activity" is not widely used and is considered to be synonymous with international trade. This category also lacks sufficient scientific substantiation in domestic sources. The article provides the author's own definition of the category of foreign trade activity - a set of economic transactions and relations at the micro level related to the international exchange of goods, services and financial assets of enterprises between different countries, including export-import operations, transit, cross-border investments, logistics services and customs procedures. Since all types and forms of international interaction and cooperation require the processing of significant information data sets and are shaped by the rapid development of information technology and innovation, it is advisable to use the concept of information and innovation support of foreign trade activity, which is a set of measures and technologies aimed at using information and innovation resources to optimize the processes of foreign trade activity, covers the implementation of modern information systems, analytical tools, e-commerce, digital platforms and other technologies to increase the efficiency of trade operations, improve marketing and promotion of goods and services in global markets, and ensure competitiveness in the international arena.
