Abstract

The article analyzes the experience of economic growth in the Republic of Korea after military conflicts and substantiates the possibility of using it to rebuild Ukraine's economy. Its application can help Ukraine in its post-war reconstruction and give impetus to the development of a technologically and economically powerful state. The historical and economic aspects of the development of the Republic of Korea in different periods of time, the chronology of which is conditioned by military conflicts, are investigated. It has been determined that after the Korean War, the United Nations Korean Reconstruction Agency (UNKRA) was established to provide economic assistance to South Korea, with most of the funds provided by the United States. UNKRA's activities ceased in 1958, but emergency assistance from the UN and other international voluntary organizations continued. The main key factor in South Korea's successful reconstruction was the visionary leadership that emerged after the war and implemented a series of ambitious economic development plans known as the «Han River Miracle». These plans included industrialization, export-led growth, and education. The government implemented policies aimed at rebuilding the country's infrastructure, reviving industry, and developing human capital. Foreign investments were attracted, export-oriented industries were created, and a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship was developed, which laid the foundation for the country's economic transformation and paved the way for its future success. The rebuilding of South Korea's economy, which has become a high-tech industrial power, is a vivid example of effective economic policy and deserves careful study by Ukraine. This is especially true given the fact that today the Republic of Korea is an active player in the global economic and political space and has achieved significant results in this area of development. The experience of South Korea provides valuable information for countries seeking to overcome the challenges of post-war reconstruction and achieve sustainable development.
