Exposición de la economía y el sistema bancario españoles a los terceros países materiales

Abstract

Motivación El Banco de España realiza un ejercicio anual de identificación de terceros países de fuera del Espacio Económico Europeo con los que las entidades de crédito españolas mantienen exposiciones de relevancia. Por ello, es importante analizar la exposición de la economía española a estos «países materiales» desde diferentes perspectivas. Ideas principales • En 2022, el Banco de España identificó a Reino Unido, Estados Unidos, México, Brasil, Turquía, Chile, Perú y Colombia como terceros países materiales para el sistema bancario español. En este artículo se describe la exposición bancaria, comercial y financiera de la economía española a estos países. • Entre ellos, destaca la exposición al Reino Unido, que ocupa el primer lugar en la mayoría de las variables consideradas. Estados Unidos obtiene asimismo cuotas muy elevadas. • Entre las economías emergentes, destaca la exposición española a Brasil y México en activos y pasivos bancarios y en inversión extranjera directa con origen en España. Respecto al resto de los países, la exposición es de mucha menor cuantía, siendo mayor en el caso de Chile y Turquía que en el de Colombia y Perú.
