IV Censo Nacional Agropecuario y el descubrimiento de la agricultura. Avances en la investigación

Abstract

Este texto constituye una reflexión y balance sobre los estudios ganadores del Concurso de Investigación “Uso del IV Censo Nacional Agropecuario (CENAGRO) 2012”, convocado por el Ministerio de Agricultura y Riego (MINAGRI), con la asistencia técnica de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentación y la Agricultura (FAO) y el Consorcio de Investigación Económica y Social (CIES). Los diez estudios académicos reseñados por el Dr. Richard Webb en este balance analizan los cambios producidos en el sector desde que concluyó el censo anterior (1994), para generar evidencia útil en el diseño de políticas públicas agrarias. De esta manera se aporta al desarrollo sostenible y la inclusión socioeconómica de la población que trabaja en casi dos millones de unidades agropecuarias menores de cinco hectáreas, ubicadas principalmente en la sierra y selva. Esta edición se publicó en el año 2016, gracias al auspicio de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentación y la Agricultura (FAO).
