Controles sintéticos y estrategia de dosis: un análisis provincial exploratorio de los efectos del COVID-19 en los ingresos, empleo y pobreza en el Perú, 2011-2020

Abstract

Basados en los modelos de Krueger, Uglig, Xie (2020) y estudio de Jaramillo y López (2021), esta investigación presenta una serie de evidencias que señalan que las acciones del gobierno en la pandemia del COVID-19 -que se inició en el Perú en la primera semana de marzo del 2020, no solo no mitigaron los contagios/fallecidos por el virus, sino que además produjeron efectos negativos en el desempeño de la economía, particularmente sobre los niveles de pobreza, ingreso real y empleo (formal e informal). Este estudio se desarrolló como resultado del XXII Concurso Anual de Investigación CIES 2020, con el auspicio de la Fundación Manuel J. Bustamante de la Fuente, el Fondo Fiduciario de la ONU para Eliminar la Violencia contra la Mujer (ONU Mujeres), el Centro Internacional de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo (IDRC, por sus siglas en inglés) y el Consorcio de Investigación Económica y Social (CIES).
